Biography
Karyn Barsa’s 30+ years in business leadership include investment banking, turnaround corporate finance, and management of emerging and established multi-channel brands.
Karyn has held CFO, COO, and CEO roles at Patagonia, Smith & Hawken, Coyuchi, and Investors’ Circle. In addition, Karyn has served on the boards of several public and private for-profit companies and non-profit organizations. She has spoken at various conferences and universities about business practices and board effectiveness. For the boards of two NYSE companies, Karyn’s roles on Audit, Risk, and Compensation committees were integral to the successful engagement and resolution of activist investor agendas. Karyn is a valued mentor for management teams and for new board members as well as a successful consultant. Karyn holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and BA in Economics from Connecticut College.
